Earning awards is a great motivator. White Tiger implements numerous methods of positive reinforcement to enable students to stay on track with their goals.
RANK ADVANCEMENT
Testing for new belts on a regular basis provides a constant reminder to yourself and others of your achievement thus far.
BEST TEST TROPHY
A trophy is awarded at every regular test cycle to the student who put forth the most effort on testing day.
BELT OF THE MONTH
Every month, a student is selected to receive a certificate for the best effort, improvement, attitude and attendance for each belt level.
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Every month a student is chosen overall for their dedication and motivational attitude. This student is featured in the poster marquee in the cafe area.
STUDENT OF THE YEAR
Every November, a student is chosen and presented with a plaque for their overall commitment to their art.
TIGER TICKET - CLASS EFFORT
Every class, at least one student is chosen to receive the Tiger Ticket for their effort during class. Tickets are then placed in the prize box and winners are drawn at the following testing. Prizes have ranged from $100 gift certificates to a SUV (won by a 10 year old).
TIGER TICKET - SECRET WORD
Every student has a chance to win a Tiger Ticket by telling his instructor the Secret Word of the Week found only in the White Tiger Pawcast.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Students are required to turn in a copy of their latest report card when they apply for rank advancement. Students with perfect school grades will receive a certificate and the Academic Achievement Pin.
MEDALS AND TROPHIES
Several times a year, White Tiger provides free or low-cost tournaments. Friendly competition is a great way to showcase your strengths and find your areas that could use improvement.
CHARACTER STRIPES
Anyone may nominate a deserving student for exhibiting a Black Belt Life Skill. Simply fill out the nomination form and turn it into the instructor. Stripe awards will be presented at the end of the class.
LEADER OF THE MONTH
Every month, students may nominate their the staff or Leadership Team member that helped them the most. Master Rondy will present the winners with a cash prize at the next testing.
BIRTHDAY BELT
See the office to trade your belt for the Golden Belt on your Birthday. The Golden Belt is the ultimate ruler and high rank for the day. You can request your birthday song in English or Korean.
TAEKWONDOUGH
Students may earn Taekwondough dollars to spend like cash in the proshop. The White Tiger Summer Reading Program enables students to “earn” a paycheck for reading books during their break. Taekwondough is also awarded for Sol-nal for showing respect to their elders.
